Yard work anyone?

So I have been wanting to finish our back yard since we moved in but it seems like when you start something then there is something else and something else. I went over to where they are building some new houses in our neighborhood to load some rocks in our truck to start building my FREE retaining wall for dirt. While I was there, a guy was loading dirt into a dump truck and came over and asked if I needed dirt and rocks. I told him I did and he wondered if I was ready for it now. I told him I thought that I could move a few things out of my garden that wasn't planted yet. It turns out that it was my friend Jen Young's uncle Lee Cox and he was getting paid by the other people to haul this dirt away and he was glad to haul it around the block then haul it out of town. Haha yeah for me!! I am sure this will take me forever but I hope not. After we get the wall built we will have to level out the dirt, get top soil, plant grass, get gravel. I have opened a can of worms but I am going to open a can of woop a#$ on my yard!! I am tired of it looking half done and I have done a pretty good job on the rest of it so I just want it to look finished already!!
Come and help if you feel the need :)

Boys and Baseball

Spunky up to bat and he ended up hitting a double and actually got to score tonight several times!!!!
Zack playing second base!! So serious....

Throwing it to first base! Check out the kids behind him....wonder what his problem is....haha!!

Gabe has been having the opportunity to be one of the starting pitchers for his team. He threw several innings of three up and three down!! Good job champ!!!!

I had to put this one up to show how aggressive he gets. Look at that face...what determination!!! It worked because they did awesome and they won the game.

Yeah for me!

So I went to Cedar City a little over a month ago to test my brain to see if I can be considered "Highly Qualified" to be a teacher. Can anyone say stressed!! So I took the test, went and ate pancakes with the family, drove over to Bryce Canyon and checked into to Ruby's Inn. My cute little in-laws met us over there and we swam in the pool, ate Connie's scrumtrulesent treats, and took the windy, cold drive into the canyon!! So much fun after the stress of finals and getting ready for the praxis test.

I have now had to wait a whole month to hear the results. They tempt you into calling and giving them more of your precious money by offering your results four days early early over the phone but you have to pay$30 more. STUPIDS!! Anyway, I waited, very impatiently, by the way! I woke up this morning at 7:03 and was instantly up, out of bed, and out to the living room for the trusty lap-top. Dear God, please let me have passed this dumb test. As the computer booted up I felt a little nausea pass over me and Chad laughed at me a little bit. He couldn't understand what I was so worried about because he just knew that I had passed. I wasn't so sure. I was having flash-backs of the test questions and how I felt as I was answering them. I was worried.

So the whole two minutes of logging into my praxis account and the download time for the results, I was picturing my summer vacation being full of praxis study books. Please, NO!! It opened and I let out a scream!!! I got a 174 out of 200 and you have to have a 150. OH SWEET RELIEF!!! Thank you God for being so faithful to me. I can now go on to the next level of my teaching program at USU.

Yeah for Spring!!!

The pretty little miss had a good time just hangin' around
BRANDING EXTRAVAGANZA

Even Mama Jamie got in on the branding and had a lot of fun. I had odd jobs this year since there was so much help. I got to sort off the branded calves from the group and was sooooooo sore the next day. Fat and out of shape paired with lots of running and darting around makes for one sore fat girl!! Last year I got to give shots but got to poke them with a stick this year. Loved it!!

Zack roped one on the ground and had a little help dragging him to the fire!!

Spring brings new calves and that means branding!!!! Love it!! Hope you enjoy and I promise to blog some more this summer. haha

Good job Chad!!

That's how its done!!
